1986 Prunier Cognac Fins Bois 58.4%
Country of origin: France
Content: 0.7 liter
Alcohol percentage: 58,4%
Nose: Savoury, with dried fruit, tobacco, leather and a hint of rich rancio. Maya Gold chocolate, leather and clove join the party, along with stewed apples and a faint floral hint.
Palate: Clean and fruity initially, with a burst of ripe apples and greengage, then cinnamon and cardamom arrive, with milk chocolate, more orchard fruits and cigar box.
Finish: The fruit and spice combine for an elegant, but intense finish.
Comment: Very different in style to the big names of the industry, this is an intensely flavoured, savoury-leaning Cognac with plenty of fruit, but with none of the βfatβ wood and spice found in other bottles. Rewards quiet contemplation.
